Notes From the Author: Superbowl Prediction

Greetings loyal readers. Thanks for being here.

After a year and a half of cajoling, crying, begging and worse, we have the internet at our house. The phone company, who shall remain nameless (but it rhymes with Century Stink) has been giving us something of a run around. But, that is all behind me now. I can do my blog posts in my PJs.

As a result I plan on blogging at least six days a week. Philip the bard will appear on weekdays and Bubba the Science Guy will post on Saturday. I’ve been reading some interesting science things lately and I look forward to sharing some thoughts about them.

No science this weekend though. This weekend is all about FOOTBALL. Those of you who know me know that I am a staunch Raider fan. There for I certainly can’t root for the Dogassbroncos. I live just an hour from Seattle and I know that if they win their fan will become even more annoying than they already are (you know you are), so I can’t root for them.

It is a dilemma to be sure. I’ll root for a good game. My wife is a fan of Peyton and despite his connection to a certain right wing pizza man he is hard to dislike.

Some call Richard Sherman a “thug” but anyone who’s followed Seahawks football knows he is a smart, funny guy who is also hard to dislike.

With all that I claim to be impartial. I don’t really care who wins. Who do I think will win???

Great offense vs. great defense, a classic match up. The standard cliche’ here give the advantage to Seattle. Not so fast I say.

I think Denver wins 21-17. I think it will be one of the better Superbowls, very close, very exciting. I believe Peyton Manning is on a mission. He will remember Tracy Porter of the Saints who intercepted Peyton’s last chance for a Superbowl. He wont challenge Richard Sherman. He will pick and choose his spots and Denver will score.

Seattle will make it tough if they can get Marshon Lynch going early. If he has a BIG day, Seattle could upset here. But. I see the Denver defense being just good enough to prevent that.

Now my prediction for the NEXT Superbowl . . . Raiders, Raiders, Raiders, baby.

Never mix red wine with Oodo.
