“Never Mix Red Wine with Oodo”
Why is it that we must learn some lessons over and over? I learned about mixing Oodo with red wine back when I first met my wife Ina and her people, back before “The Arrival”.
Yet there I was saturday night sitting around the camp fire taking hits off the Oodo bottle when it was passed around in between sips off my glass of wine. Big mistake.
Sunday, my cousin Lars came up to the lake with one of the new lepton power boats from the Lors. Since the Lors have such a great relationship with The Mother we on Kusha get a lot of their best toys. I passed on the boat ride and nursed my hangover with a glass of beer. Ina did go out and said it was a thrilling experience.
Since the Lors evolved in the ocean of their planet they have some very bitchin watercraft. This thing went eighty clicks on top, underneath or even a few meters above the water.
When the gang returned from the boat ride we all cleaned up camp and loaded the crew into the WC and drove back to Harappa City.
I’m not a big fan of sleeping in a tent when you have the option of four walls and a real bed, but camping does afford the opportunity to ponder the night sky.
Though the Kushan night sky does not have that many stars the near constant aurora and the rings make for a lovely view. I’ve never been to Earth or Lava. I understand they both offer a better view of the stars. The Harappan atmosphere was very moisture laden and the view of the stars was limited. Of course we had the Blue Moon, the Little White Moon and the seventeen mini moons, but only a handful of stars.
Kusha’s sky is a bright violet during the day and a deep purple indigo at night with the pale green wisps of the aurora sliced in two by the rings. The Fordians tell us that Kusha’s ring system is one of the most extensive in the Milky Way. Even they can’t explain ring “D’s” double helix structure.
Back in my office this morning with my view of the Rodin Falls and I’m looking forward to telling you more tales about Max’s childhood. I promised to dish some dirt on the Mother and starting tomorrow I will.
