Philip the Bard was called upon for one to many encores last night at the Two Dogs Tavern and is not available to post on his blog today. I am an old friend of his and I’ve agreed to fill in for him. Some of you may have heard of me, I am Dorian Thain. I grew up with Philip in the White Mountains of Harappa.
I thought I would offer a slight clarification to a post Philip made regarding our fishing trip the other afternoon. He shared a reminiscence about my first meeting with Max Gavaskar. It is true that she was a little nervous and may have had too much wine that night, but I want to clear something up.
I think it should be understood that when I first met Max she had been on the run from the SID for several months. Her life had been very stressful. Still, I found her to be full of grace. Even in those trying days she was elegant and poised. It was quite easy to see that she was soneone special.
Maybe I should also say that in all the years since, I have never seen Max overly inebriated.
Monday Philip will be back. I understand he has some info on Max’s first date.
