Philip the Bard's Harappan Blog

What a great day to be alive. I’m having Kushan Rose Fish for dinner tonight. Like I mentioned yesterday I talked my good friend Dorian Thain into a fishing trip.

He lives outside of town on the Rodin River. For some reason he likes a little seclusion and being surrounded by nature. Me, I grew up in nature and I like being a city boy. Now that I am . . . more mature, I like the comforts of town.

But, Dorian does have a great fishin’ hole on his property. We sat on the bank of the river and solved the Galaxie’s problems . . . oh yeah Max already did that.

I was telling Dorian that I’ve been writing this blog for the Encyclopedia Galactica and that I was telling tales on the Mother. He offered up the story of their first meeting.

They were both on the run and hiding out on planet Lava when their paths first crossed. Max confessed later to Dorian that she had a strong adolescent crush on him and was totally intimidated to be in his presence. He was the leader of all Harappans at the time.

He said he had noticed that she seemed very shy and quiet. They were sitting around a table with several others drinking wine and discussing issues of the day.

After a couple of glasses Max started entering the conversation and agreed to come to Kusha with Dorian.

Then, after a couple more glasses of wine she calmly said, “I’m going to put my head down now.”

She folded her hands on the table and she leaned forward. Her head fell on to the backs of her hands with a loud thump. She was out. Dorian and the others carried Max to a bedroom in the back of the house and didn’t see her till the next morning when she woke up in less than a stellar mood.

You can read more about this story in the novelization “The Gavaskar Field” available on Amazon as an ebook.
