Greetings festive readers. Thanks for being here.
Happy friday folks. Me and the Gutterminds will be playing at the Bird in Hand on Saturday night, if you’re in Harappa City come on by. We start around 9:00 and play till whenever.
It was a great honor for me to visit with Max Gavaskar. I had an enjoyable afternoon listening to her and my friend Dorian discuss politics, life, family and friends. I got to talk with her some and we shared some moments that I will cherish.
What is my impression after meeting her after all these years? I met her when she was young, eager, naive and known only as Max. I was around when she made her two big discoveries that are now being told in the novelization “Kusha”. Then she got swept up into inter-galactic politics and intrigue and her world became a world of ambassadors, diplomats and kings. She no longer had time for common folk such as me. I’m sure that she would tell you, that was not her choice.
Seeing her after all these years and seeing what all that space travel has done to her made me sad. She is aged way beyond her years. When I first met her she wanted a private life studying and pursuing her scientific interests. She did some work on her Gavaskar Field studies but she was never able to spend the time she wanted in her lab. I have heard some critics claim that Max’s big insight was merely a lucky guess and they point to a lack of further insights as proof that she was no special intellect. I say BS to that, kakka poon, too. Max was never allowed to devote her mind to science after the Galactic War. One has to wonder what amazing things she may have come up with if we and the rest of the galaxy could have left her alone.
Never mix red wine and Oodo.
