I have mentioned the Greenfield Blast on this blog before. I believe I told of it through the eyes of my friend Dorian Thain who was there.
It was the first open assault on the Leadership Council of Earth or LC. The Tarsans planned this act of terrorism without knowing that Dorian thain himself would be there.
History does not say and I know of no records of this but I am sure that Mary Carmini, once she knew that Dorian was there he became one of her targets. It would have suiter her and her cause very well to have ended his story right then and there. Fortunately for Harappans and many Earthers that didn’t happen. The Friends once they saw what was happening took Dorian out of that scene and to safety.
The Tarsans considered the Blast to be a great success. It brought them attention, noteariety and new converts. The population of Earth had been suppressed for so long that people who hadn’t even considered revolution necessary or given any thought to it, flocked to the Tarsans. Some joined the Tarsans just because it seemed exciting. Nothing exciting had happened on Earth for generations. Others joined because they to, held long suppressed religious views. Many people joined the Tarsan cause because to do otherwise meant death or torture.
It was a very short time between the Greenfield Blast and when the Tarsans invaded the LC compound in Paxville. That event signaled the demise of the Greenies and the LC. For a short while the SID tried to exert some calming influence in the reconstruction of Earth society but they were not able to establish any control.
Some of that was due to pressure applied to them by the Tarsans. Tomorrow: What the Tarsans meant for the SID.
