Philip the Bard's Harappan Blog: Another excerpt from Dusty's Book

Welcome perceptive readers. While Max Gavaskar may have become the most famous person in the galaxy there are still some details about her that we don’t hold in the public perception.

I have been discussing Dusty Waters autobiography lately and one point she makes about the Mother is that she had no sense of humor when she first went into exile on planet Lava.

So, with Dusty’s permission I’m offering up another excerpt from her book “I Need A Drink: We’ve all had quite a shock.”

Little Max came over for our weekly wine tasting. She’d come by with a bottle of Harappan wine and we “shoot the shit”. One time over glasses of Wedon 216 she asked me about one of the miners that frequented both our establishments.

I think his name was Bob. Anyway this Bob was a crackler, that’s what the miners called a goof off. So, Bob all of a sudden starts showing up with a lot of gold and silver, starts throwing it around like it was sand.

Max was worried that some of the other miners were starting to notice and thought he might be stealing. I didn’t think so. Bob was a sweet little man as I recall.

So I said to Max, “Why, he’s so rich he doesn’t trust his dogs affection.”

And, you know what Max said to that?

“He has a dog?”

I busted a gut laughing. I laughed so hard my ribs hurt the next day. I determined right then and there that I was going to have to instruct our little Maxi in the ways of humor.

In my next post we’ll start talking about David Green.
